Assignment for Tuesday, May 19

Good morning, ladies. I'm a little late posting this morning. I hope that hasn't caused any problems.

Today we look at a different type of love before looking at the fruit of the Spirit type of love tomorrow.

I'm thinking we should all be working on memorizing the fruit of the Spirit since that is what our study is about.

Week Three, Day Two

Done for today! Isaac has the same memory verse so this was easy, and good practice for both of us ;) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." Galatians 5:22-23

• A person will generally offer his friend a place of honor.
• Friends share each others’ sorrows and joys (…rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep…)
• Friends can turn on you. Some will not support your walk with God; some will openly oppose it.
• They were brought to friendship by a common issue: how to deal with Jesus -- someone who, in their joint worldly and selfish view, could not benefit them, but could cause them trouble (at the least, an annoyance; at the most they may have worried about a revolution.)
• I’ve had several friendships that were not good for me. When I was an adolescent, I was especially susceptible to the bad influences of people around me. This influenced me to be deceptive and disrespectful, to dress inappropriately and gossip.
• Peter exhorts us to demonstrate brotherly love.
• Our sense of kinship should counteract our selfish tendencies and help us become part of each others’ joys and woes.
• We should do good to and for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
• Arguros means “money.”
• The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
• Verse 2 describes these people as lovers of themselves.
• Jesus said he who loves his life loses it.

“The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness…Against such things there is no law.” Gal. 5:22-23

Luckily I know a song to these words, but it is always good to have it in my head for the rest of the day!!
