Assignment for Monday, May 18

Week three begins today. Today we will actually begin looking at one of the fruits of the Spirit - love. Today's lesson will look at one aspect of what can be meant when someone thinks of love. We will spend the whole week on this fruit and I hope we will have a better understanding of or at least be reminded of what kind of love walking in the Spirit will bear in our lives.

Good - so many done so early!

I wanted to add a little something to Audrey's comment on Friday about God never promising to heal our physical nation now that we are a spiritual people. This is true, of course, but there is another aspect to this. We also see in Lot's case that ten righteous people could have saved the whole city. Righteous people in a nation seem to influence how God treats that nation. So I guess even though God doesn't promise to restore our physical nation if we are righteous, perhaps He won't destroy it! And He will probably even bless it, as we have seen in our own national history in more moral days gone by.

Hmmm. I just realized that Julie is out of town so probably won't be posting today so I'll take her place...

The woman's body belongs to the husband.

The husband's body belongs to the wife.

Consent from both spouses for a time of prayer and fasting is the only proper grounds for depriving each other.

Two reasons Paul gives for returning to your spouse: Satan's teptation, a lack of self-control.
