Thursday

I am now in the book of Hebrews and am reading about how much better it is for us now than it was for the Jews under Moses' Law. As I read about the access we have through Jesus and the hope we have I am again impressed and humbled by the love God has for us. And then I read about Isreal's disobedience and how God viewed it. In one place He calls it unbelief, in another disobedience. Have you ever thought about what causes us to disobey? Hebrews teaches it is unbelief. So what exactly are you doing when you disobey? You are basically saying that you do not believe God knows what He is talking about. You do not believe He will punish the disobedient. You do not believe He will care for you when you obey. What an insult to the One who loves us most.

Wednesday

Yesterday I noticed how many times Paul mentions being ashamed to Timothy in 2 Timothy. I guess that's something we all wrestle with. We don't like to be different or "peculiar" as God asks us to be. I'm thankful He gave us the church - a place where being "peculiar" is normal so we have a place to fit in. Suffering for the kingdom can seem a shameful thing if we lose our focus. And it comes in so many different forms! We should not be ashamed; we should be thankful.

Monday

Good day, ladies. I'm feeling much better today. I hope you all are having a good start to the week. I know Mondays can be trying when you have little ones who are tired from Sunday. I hope those of you in that situation know how much those of use who are not appreciate your efforts each week.

This week I'm going through 2 Timothy and beyond. I look forward to hearing what you all are learning in your studies.
