Oops. I'm a little late this morning. I hope that didn't cause any problem! Today's assignment is to answer questions 2, 3, and 4.

done for yesterday and today..

as each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as a good steward of the manifold grace of God...I Pet. 4:10

Man, I am still having to check this verse before I write it...I am just having trouble with it!

2. I didn't see a question here, but I found it interesting that Paul's encouragement of those around him took place during times of great personal danger and violence toward the church.

3. Paul sends Tychicus to the churches in Ephesus and Colossians to pass on information about Paul and his companions and their circumstances and also to "comfort their hearts" or "encourage their hearts". I love that language!

4. Paul had been hindered from visiting Rome, though he dearly wished to go. He asks the Romans to pray for deliverance from disobedient Judeans so that he can come to visit them and receive "refreshing rest" in their company.

"As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." I Peter 4:10

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance." James 1:2-3

"Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24

(I had to peek at the last one -- I'm forgetting it already!)

Sorry, my answer to #4 wasn't super clear: Paul wanted for the Romans to pray for HIS deliverance from disobedient Judeans...
