Assignment for Friday, January 9

Here we are at the end of our first week. Friday ladies, would you please go back to answer question 6 since I forgot that one yesterday, and then question 9? Then please answer the Digging Deeper question.

I almost feel like I should gather up the trinkets to treasure as they are introduced at the end of each chapter so I can review the concepts periodically. Maybe I'll just throw them in once in a while during the study.

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. Hebrews 10:24 Woo-hoo!

Hebrews 10:24 "And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds."

I'm not sure about my answers. For some reason I'm having problems thinking today.

6. Everything that we experience, whether it be affliction or consolation is for our salvation. God is in control and wants us to spend eternity with Him. That is a comfort no matter what we are going through.

9. God has loved us and given us comfort that is eternal. Wow! How awesome is that! It is not some fleeting comfort but an eternal peace.

Digging Deeper - These two people had been living difficult lives because of their sicknesses or handicaps. Jesus was telling them that everything was now okay. They already believed in Him since it was their faith in Him that was the reason for their healing. Jesus was encouraging them to continue in that faith and showing them that their faith was in something that was real.

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. Heb 10:24

I struggled with #6 too Audrey. I thought maybe I had the wrong verse and it meant 2 Corinthians 1:5 since it talks about Christ making our comfort overflow...hmm...
And #9, We can be encouraged through every good deed and word done for us, it's God who is providing all of it for us, we can be thankful to him for all of it!

Digging Deeper...These people that Jesus healed could be encouraged that God cared, Jesus cared, when others couldn't/didn't care for them, the God of heaven did, what else could matter? It puts things back into perspective.
