And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works Heb 10:24
I think I got it right, but it is still hard for me!

Psalm 119 is amazing! In a recent study of it, I learned that the whole Psalm is an acrostic poem in the original Hebrew. Also, that almost every verse refers to God's word (or a synonym for it such as precept, law, commandment, ordinances).
It's comforting to me that God reaches us in ways that we understand personally -- poetry for the literary types, told in perfect symmetry for the mathematically minded -- and all the time focusing our attention completely on His word for 176 straight verses, like a drum beat. I find that very powerful too.

"And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds." Heb. 10:24

Juuuuuuulieeee...where ARE you? You must have had a busy day!

I'm going to jump in here in case Julie can't get to us today since it's already evening. I was thinking about the trail mix question for a while and finally decided I would go to 2 Peter 1 for my ingredients and wrap it up with a good dose of wisdom: virtue, knowledge, temperence, endurance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.

Question 1: The Word is able to strengthen a melting or discouaged soul. Isn't it interesting that the Word is not always the first place we think to go? I guess that's a good lesson for us - especially if someone has come to us for encouragement. We can use the Word to strengthen their discouraged souls. Hmmm. I think that means we have to know where to find things in it.

Ok, a little late.

Debbie already answered Question 1 for me. The Word can strengthen me.

I read all of Psalm 119 and noticed all the emotions the writer uses as he talks about God's word. Factual, pleading, rejoicing, desparate, thankful, anger and sadness over those who don't follow/love the Word, humbleness, fear, peace. I knew about this being a song of the many facets of God's word (like Jennifer said) but I never felt the emotions. It was very encouraging this morning for me.
