Day Two

Unless Audrey posted after I went to bed last night, I believe she is the only one who did not post yesterday. I suppose we can accept that since she spent all day at the airport or on planes. Welcome home, Audrey! I hope you feel well soon.

Keep those posts coming, ladies.

Done for today.

Today's reading was 1Chron 22-27 and was about getting ready for the temple. David is gathering supplies for Solomon to build. He is also getting the priests and Levites organized to do their work once it is done.

The one insight I got was allocating the people by months. They knew they had a job to do for a month then it would be someone's else's turn. It appears we have done that here to some extent - with the kids' classes. Not so much as limiting them to one month but looking out for each other that someone is not 'stuck' for years in one class - unless they chose to be 'stuck'.

The other thought was that this is all written down for us. I will admit that it is boring but as I read I realized that God's plan is organized and planned - just like what I read today.

Good morning, Ladies.

I read Mark 7 today and something occured to me. I noticed in chapter 6 that Jesus told the man with many demons whom He healed to go tell everyone what God had done for him while He usually tells people to keep quiet. In chapter 7 He tells someone to keep quiet but as usual the news is spread all over the place. I wonder why He told the man called Legion to tell while He tells most everyone else to keep quiet. Hmmmm....

I was reading about Joseph in Egypt this morning. But before that, I noticed that Isaac wanted to give Esau his blessing before he died (which Jacob then stole). The funny thing is that he lived another 20 years after that! He was kind of jumping the gun just a little, huh?

Anyway, I still have to work on Romans today and read a couple of chapters in Matthew...I'll do that!

Done for today--I am figuring out that I actually often have my own agenda (embarrassingly) instead of letting God be the agenda and allowing things to happen--praying, studying, helping where I can but not trying to control the situation. In full--letting God use me instead of deciding that He should and then telling Him how I have decided to help--I'm figuring this approach doesn't really do much to stretch growth does it?? This book is a little on the "hear God's voice" side but overall so far I am learning more about not conrolling--something I have been working on for several years now.
And, my memory work:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways....(this is as far as I got from memory--the rest follows)
declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts"
Isaiah 55:8-9

Sarah, that control thing IS a tough one. I'm a scheduler and I tend to feel upset when my schedule is disrupted. I have to always remind myself that I need to be open to God's schedule for me. You are not alone in your need for growth in that area!

So this week wasn't a great week for me to start with travelling, being sick, and having two sick kids. Uh-oh. I'm making excuses already. I did read my chapter today but am now running a day behind. I'm hoping to catch up tomorrow.
