Assignment for Friday, June 5

Here we are at the end of a peaceful week. :) Next week we will learn to have patience - or at least about patience. lol

As you all know, I will be traveling next week with Audrey and of course we will both be doing our study while we are gone. I don't know if I will be able to blog every day so I am setting it up in advance. If I can't check daily, I will read all your comments when I return. Please keep us in your prayers.

They were going to a garden by way of the Brook Kidron.

Jesus ascended to heaven from the Mount of Olives.

Jesus often took the disciples there.

A detachment of troops and officers of the chief priests and Pharisees accompanied Judas. They were carrying lanterns, torches, and weapons.

No, He wasn't surprised. Verse 4 says that He knew all things that would come upon Him.

The soldiers fell to the ground.

He asked that they let the apostles go.

Peter used his sword and cut off the ear of the high priest's servant.

Jesus told Peter to put his sword away because He had to drink the cup that God had given Him.

Jesus healed the servant's ear.

Jesus was uniquely qualified because all of God's fullness dwells in Him.

This task was accomplished by His death.

Peace belongs to Jesus and He gives it to us.

Our hearts can be calm and not afraid.

God fills us with joy and peace through the Holy Spirit.

Being spiritually minded is the key to peace.

The person who has perfect peace is someone whose mind is focused on God and who trusts Him.

Paul instructs us to not be anxious but to pray and leave it at God's feet.

One thought that has stuck with me is that peace isn't freedom from sadness and pain. It is a total trust in God and His plan that helps me through the pain knowing that He is in control and watching over me personally.
