1. …And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
2. Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
3. Jesus divides believers and unbelievers (the faithful and unfaithful) with His sword.
4. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.
5. In each of these passages, the disciples were afraid (even hiding) and Jesus brought them peace.
6. Christ has supremacy over all things because He is Creator, has authority over everything, He is everlasting, the bringer of peace and the great reconciler.
7. It pleased God that all of His fullness would dwell in Christ and that Christ would reconcile all things to Him.
8. Christ presents us to God as holy, blameless and beyond reproach.
9. In those moments (or hours, days, weeks…) when I keep this in mind, it has immeasurable impact on my personal sense of peace. It’s like a granite wall surrounding me. Unfortunately, too often, I’m like Peter – I don’t keep my eye on Jesus, but look around at the encroaching elements instead.
10. For He Himself is our peace.
11. My access to the father is something that is too great to put into words. It would be amazing enough to know that someone was always there for me; to sit or walk beside me at any moment, within a second’s whisper of when I need Him. That’s such a selfish thing that I love – and yet HE wants it for me. That’s amazing. But that this isn’t just any somebody who loves me, but the Creator of all, who knows my darkest thoughts, who has seen every sin, who planned to allow His son to die to cover my sin even before Creation – that HE is the one who will come and sit with me? That’s too awesome to express. I’m grateful and humbled just thinking about it. It makes me want to strive to be a better light for Him and to know Him better. And it does give me a wonderful sense of peace.

Due to my horrible time management skills so far this week, I'm running a day behind. I've finished Monday's lesson.
