Welcome to Thursday! Today's assignment is to answer questions 8 and 9. Will any of you feel ready to move on to the next verse in our group of memory verses next week or should we spend another week just working on the first two verses?

Hi Ladies! It has been a long time, but maybe I am getting back on track, the last 6 weeks have been tough ones but hopefully we are rounding the corner.
#8 - Eliphaz reminds Job how he has helped so many around him in their time of need. If you look at verses 3 - 5 you see that Job not only has assisted physically, but emotionally through both words and deeds.
#9 - Encouragement helps us keep our focus on God's commands and our faith in Jesus. Much like Eliphaz did for Job in vs. 6 of the previous question - He reminds Job not to loose sight of God in his own trials.

I basically got the same answers as Brooke...
8)Eliphaz reminded Job of the good qualities he had witnessed in Job--admonished many and strengthened weakened hands.
9) Encouragement helps us persevere and keep God's commandments. I thought this scripture was a little strange for the question...but maybe it's just me because Rev. is really hard for me to begin with...
Sarah, if you look in the back at the teacher's notes, you can read the version she uses - or in this case it's more of a commentary instead of a version. Just looking at NKJ it seems to me the verse is saying that the fact that those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus are in heaven is what gives the saints enough hope to hang on. So unless another real version says something different, you are right about this verse not fitting the question directly. However you might indirectly conclude that the encouragement we receive from our hope gives us patience.
