Assignment for Monday, February 23

Welcome to another week! Today's assignment is to answer question 1 and 2 and the Clearing the Cobwebs question. Let me know if you are ready for another memory verse and feel free to answer the questions even if it isn't your day as Julie has been sick for quite a while!

Done for today...
And I'll answer them since I totally spaced answering on Friday! So sorry!
1- Wow, I can't even name all of the one anothers in my life. There are SO many forms of communication today, we can have contact with just about anyone at ANY time, in more than one way! It's a little overwheming when I think about all the "one-anothers"
2- We're to be full of humility and seeking that God would fill be with endurance, keep me encouraged, and giving my spiritual family a "spirit of unity"
Cobwebs - I remember having this glass mug my parents brought me from Texas when I was little that I didn't want ANYONE else to drink out of because it was MINE and they had brought it to ME. But being the youngest I don't think I had the luxury of being very protective of most of my stuff, especially since my older siblings' things seemed much more interesting anyway ;)

I had a baby doll that I LOVED. She was so pretty and her dress was a beautiful red velvet. No one was allowed to touch that baby doll. I didn't give her up until I gave her to my own daughters and enjoyed watching them play with her. They probably don't remember her.

I always contemplate the full meaning of "like-minded." As much as I have in common with others, I also know that we often see things so differently. We have different gifts and personality struggles (insecurity, stubbornness, gullibility, etc.) I know that ultimately it means we are supposed to all have Christ-like attitudes toward each other -- regardless of our personality differences. But does it make anyone else think of empathy too? Being able to put aside my own personality long enough to see a situation from her shoes?

Regarding question 2, it's interesting that all of these things focus on what we are inside our own minds, where no one can really "see" what we're thinking.

I wasn't allowed to keep any of my toys to myself. Still, I had some special ones that I enjoyed -- like a big dollhouse with double doors that swung open so I could sit really close to the "action."

Empathy is certainly a part of having the mind of Christ - Jesus wept with Mary and Martha even though He knew they would be rejoicing very soon. Taking the time and making the effort to get to know each other makes this easier.
