Assignment for Tuesday, February 24

Are there people within your congregation that you prefer to be with over others? We all have friends with whom we are more comfortable or with whom we have more in common, and then there are those that we find more difficult to enjoy or understand, and sometimes there are even those whom we barely know. The larger the congregation, the truer this is. Jesus had his closest friends with Him in the garden before His crucifixion. There is nothing wrong with this; however, if we neglect caring for all equally as need arises, we are falling short of God's glory.

Today's assignment is to answer questions 3, 4, and 5.

Okay, I am back. I have finished last week's and have completed most of this week's. I went back and enjoyed everyone's comments. Thank you Tammy for filling in for me yesterday.

By the way, I am feeling better but still have a cough. Energy is definitely back.

I'm glad Qwert is feeling better!

Done for yesterday and today.

Brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the trying of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3

As each one of you has received a gift, minister it to each other, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. I Pet. 4:10

Consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. Heb 10:24

Good enough...I'm ready for a new one!

Sorry I'm so late. Bryan was borrowing my computer while his new work computer was being shipped back from NC!

3. Paul says we care for one another by fostering unity/fighting division. We shouldn't regard some members of our body as vital and others as unnecessary.
4. We should be kind, tender-hearted and forgiving with each other.
5. Peter says to be hospitable without complaint; James said not to complain about each other. I see this as one of those contagious issues. If we speak words of encouragement, it's contagious; people will speak them back to us. If we gripe, people will sometimes think it's okay to gripe right back!

"Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance." James 1:2-3

"As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." I Peter 4:10

I'm ready for another one!

Done for today.

That "without grumbling" definitely slaps me right in the face. I don't always have the right attitude when I am called upon to help someone out. Something that I need to work on.

Your comment about grumbling and encouraging both being contagious brought another thought to my mind. Not only are those comments/thoughts contagious to others, they are contagious to ourselves. If we allow ourselves to dwell on how we don't want to do something, we will REALLY not want to do it and it will only grow harder. If we catch ourselves when these thoughts creep into our heads and force ourselves to be thankful, our attitudes will reflect that thankfulness. When I feel tired of helping I can thank God for the opportunity to reflect His love and all of a sudden I'm not so tired any more.
