Assignment for Thursday, February 26

As you think about your answers today, I want you to think about how "comfort zones" can affect how we apply these commands. Do you see any dangers here?

Answer questions 8 and 9 today. (Do you Friday posters see a little relief coming up tomorrow?)

done for today...

I was thinking about your question, and I'm not sure I understand. Maybe you could clarify a little more?

I think it can be quite uncomfortable to confront sin, and so it's possible that we could use these verses as an excuse for putting up with sin that we know exists in a sister or brother's life.

Personal experience would teach me that confronting sin is not usually going to go well. In situations I've been in, I've been told I was unforgiving; that I had no right to judge; that I was looking for specks and ignoring my log.

It is important to have a forgiving attitude; we should bear with each other and consider their needs -- and we should definitely look at our own behaviors before we start pointing fingers. But when all of that has been done, we DO need to address sin with our friends. We can't worm our way out of it because it's outside our comfort zone.
