Assignment for Wednesday, January 28

Today's questions are pretty simple. The real trick is making sure you are taking advantage of the answers! Do questions 4 and 5.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted this week...I have been in my own little world...

4. In order to grow spiritually, we must desire (crave) the word, like a baby craves milk (and screams until he/she gets it). If I sincerely desire the word, I will turn to it often, reading and pondering the Lord's teaching. Many times in my life I would have starved to death if I had eaten as often as I read God's word!

5. I wasn't sure what "grow in grace" meant in this passage so I went to a commentary, and the author said the "grace" here was the sum of God's favor. If we are to grow in the Lord we must be living our lives in such a way as to be increasing in God's favor...that makes a lot of sense! We are also to grow in the knowledge of our Lord, continuing to learn His character, His will, His teachings, and continuing to learn how to apply His words personally.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3

Done for today. Thanks, Anne. I like the way you put it.
