6 on Wednesday or 6 on Tuesday? I'm so confused! And just so you know, I feel very shallow because I took that trail mix question literally and said granola, raisins, peanuts and m&m's...is my face red!!!!!!!!!! I totally didn't notice that "perfect" was italicized...silly me.
done for today... and let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works...Heb. 10:24
Q 2: John wrote to strengthen and/or instill in us the belief that Jesus is the Messiah, so that our belief in Him would lead to our belief in eternal life.
Q 3: Paul writes that the scriptures were written to encourage us and help us persevere; to give us hope.
"And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds." Heb. 10:24
I was sitting here pondering the memory verse this morning...after 6, sorry...and it suddenly struck me that the verse can be taken two different ways... The way I've always looked at it was that we should think about each other to find ways to stir up love and good works in EACH OTHER,to encourage each in doing good... but suddenly it hit me that we can also take it that we should think about each other, consider each other's personalities and needs, to stir up love and good works in OURSELVES toward each other, to be an encouragement by doing good...does that make sense? Am I the last person to see it that way? Sometimes I feel very S-L-O-WWWWW.
#2 coensides well with Rogers lessons of late. It is very encouraging to me to think that the Bible was really written for us, so that we can stay the course, so that we can be encouraged.
My trail mix for yesterday was Phil. 4:4-9. My favorite words are found in vs. 8 - especially on discouraging days. And Ann, I did start thinking of all the yummy edibles I would put into a trail mix as well...although I didn't get as far as you. HA!
You know, Ann. You aren't the slowest one here. I had been wondering why that verse was worded just that way but hadn't thought it quite through. You are right! It could go both ways. I think we usually assume it is to stimulate others to love and good works because the next verse says we are to exhort each other, but the exhorting itself would be showing love and would be a good work. I'm glad you were willing to share your "slowness." lol

Hi Ladies!
Done for today and yesterday.

Yum! I like your trail mix verses, too, Brooke.

When Dave did the consider one another sermon, I looked at the definition of 'consider'. It is much more in depth than I ever thought it was.
'the fix the mind on, with a view to a careful examination; to think on with care; to ponder; to study; to meditate on.'
So it is more intense. Not exactly sure yet how to do that but my eyes are more open to what the verse is intending.
