4. Paul tells Timothy to "give attention to" reading, exhortation and doctrine (or teaching). He needed to concentrate on these things and make sure he was studying God's word himself, and exhorting and teaching his congregation from God's word also. 5. I'm not sure of the point of this passage. Does she think that Paul and Barnabas were the ones reading from the scriptures in the synagogue? The context seems that they sat and listened to the Word being read until they were asked to speak. Is that what she meant? this is where Paul preaches his first recorded sermon...is that what she's looking for? Help? 6. Job said that he would hold his tongue...be quiet and let God do the talking! He wanted to understand when he was in error.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works Heb 10:24
Sorry I was a little late...I am a "Martha" today, distracted with many things! It's one of those days where I feel so scattered...
Done for today... I was a little confused too about ques. 5, I thought that maybe she was getting at the fact that they sat and listened first and understood where the people were at spiritually before they got up and proclaimed Jesus. But questions like this is the author wanting us to keep going with the reading? Hmmm... And I thought question 6 was great b/c it shows how Job was totally humbled before God, he won't argue or try to justify himself, he just wants to know how to correct his mess-ups b/c he totally believes that God knows best! A great lesson for me...
