Assignment for September 17

So it wasn't always easy for Paul. He really had to work at being the disciple he wanted to be. How can that help us? What can we apply to our lives from Paul's example?

Done for today!

#1 - The kinds of things I see pulling people away from Christ today are the myths that:
- Everyone is just ok how they are.
- Do what feels right
- Allowing sins such as homosexuality, gay marriage and abortion to be ok in even the denominational Christian world. It effects us all when other groups start believing these and other sins are now ok, when they have never been before.
- When people look to society, tv, and other media outlets for direction, justification and how to live life.

#2 - We can recognize and deal with such untruths by letting God "dwell in us", that requires work on our part to continually search him out, and to seek for his guidance. We can also run from evil behaviors found in society, as well as stand up for what is wrong. We must continue in the faith, proclaim Christ as our savior and admonish and teach with wisdom and love.

#3 - I am encouraged by Paul's exampe because when you look to God, and you become his servant, you become loved and cherished by him, for all your good works. With that it doesn't matter how the rest of your fellow man feels about what you are doing. One also becomes united in love with fellow Christians who have the same hope and love, as well as the same desire to help others find God as well.

#4 - A daily reminder that I am to glorify God always helps me, either through study, personal devotions, prayer or meditating on specific verses. This all helps me stay focused on what my goals are and how I can continually glorify God in all that I do, and how Christ lives within me.
Verses that come to mind:

Heb. 11:1, and the entire chapter too. Being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (my thoughts-->just having faith in something we can't see and touch can sometimes be difficult, but seeing God work in our lives is more amazing).

Matt 6:31-34 - (my thoughts -->we need to seek God first, don't worry about tomorrow, but we need to live for God and Christ today)

I John 1:7 -(my thoughts-->walking in the light for Jesus, being purified by him. We can share Jesus with others just by how we live our lives, most people do notice a difference).
