Hi Ladies, I am caught up. I haven't had time to login this week, but did get the book read last week and have been working through the lessons (slowly) this week.

Here are my answers for today.
#1 - Paul wishes his purpose for those in Laodicia and those he hasn't personally met.

#2a - Paul is encouraging their hearts. That they might be united in love. That they might have complete understanding.

#2b - In Christ is where all treasures and wisdom lie. Paul tells us that this is where we will gain our enouragement of the heart, our unity and complete understanding - in Christ alone.

#2c-To know Christ is to be searching for complete understanding, to be searching for God's treasure, which is Christ.

#3-If you understand Christ's message, and if you are continually searching, you are less likely to be deceived or misled.

Question #3 especially struck me, because I think it is easy to get wrapped up in what looks and sounds good, versus what is really what Christ wants us to do.

Ok, done for today, here are my answers...
The ones Paul is wishing his purpose for are believers--those he has met and those he has not (This verse says Laodiceans, but it seemed like those he had not met would include us)
2 a)Godly encouragement--love, full riches of complete understanding=not encouragement of this world but of gaining heaven and living Christlike
b)Christ holds all of the teasures of wisdom and knowledge
c)to know and understand that He is the key-- He is all wisdom and knowledge
3. Helps encourage us in Christ's sovereignty and discourage us from believing those who will try to deceive
