Read 2Chron 29-32 about Hezekiah.

Right in the beginning of his reign he starts making reforms. How did he know what to do? His father was perverting the city and country with idols and terrible pagan practices. So I wondered how Hezekiah knew about God and His law. Then 30:22 pointed me back to chapter 17 when Jehosaphat had the priests and Levites go through the country teaching the people the law. I wonder if that practice continued through the next kings. And through that even the kings' sons were taught the Word. Just a thought as to how Hezekiah have prepared his heart for God.

Other thing - he sends invitations to the Passover to Israel, his 'enemy.' But becuase of the teaching he has received, he knows they are his brethren and children of God.

Ann, sorry I took your 'placement' as first yesterday. When I am late, I will try to be later and post after you have .

Today I read Exodus 24-25 and Matthew 22:23-46. I found it interesting that after Jesus asked the Pharisees a question about David's prophecy that they couldn't answer (and also shut the Saducees up), that they didn't try to test him with questions any more.

Romans 2:25-29
For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law, but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law. For a man is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward of the flesh; but a man is a Jew who is one inwardly and circumcision is of the heart, in the Spirit not in the letter, whose praise is not from men but from God.

Done for today.

I just want you all to know that the study that I'm going through is a very application filled study and the questions and things that I'm working through are usually a little too personal to share with everyone. So even though I'm not writing down a lot of interesting thoughts like you all are, I am doing my lessons and this blog gives me the accountability that I need to keep doing them. Thanks for that!

done for today--don't worry I have more to elaborate on tomorrow already brewing in my head! :)

I'm looking forward to your brewing results, Sarah!

I read Luke 1 and 2 today. I was thinking about Zacharias when Gabriel told him his prayer had been answered and Elizabeth was going to bear a son. LOL I'll bet he hadn't prayed that in quite some time because of his surprise and disbelief. It made me think about how we often assume God is telling us "no" when He might actually be saying "wait a while" or maybe "wait a long while until the timing is right." And to me, that is encouraging.

Oh - and Audrey, I'm just glad to have you aboard. No need to share stuff that's too personal. Letting us know that you are studying regularly is encouragement enough.
