Assignment for Tuesday, March 31

Today's assignment is to finish question 4. I also need you to let me know if you plan to participate in the next blog study which will probably start the first monday in May. Based on our little poll, we will be studying Beth Moore's Living Beyond Yourself. I plan to order the books next Monday.

Enjoy the last day of March!

HI Ladies,

Well I am somewhat staying on track, but haven't had a chance to post. Here are my ideas, and I have enjoyed reading yours, so please keep them coming. I am going to do all of my #4 below.

Jennifer - I love the nail polish idea for the spring, what a great idea!

Many of my ideas also stem from trying to get my kids to help me with these projects, so you could either do them, or incorporate a way for your kids to help.

#4 -
Ground Hogs Day - hot cocoa and a card to encourage those winter blues along. An invititation for a walk on a warmer but crisp day.

Valentines Day - swap babysitting favors for date night, heart shaped cookies for your friends (spritz cookies are easy to make with kids). New lip gloss to kiss her hunny with.

St. Patricks Day - make rainbow cards with "pots of gold" at the end. The pots of gold can either be sentiments of your friendship or some type of little treat, or both. (have the kids color the rainbow).

Easter - My favorite time for candy is Easter...Robin Eggs are my weakness. So, I would package little bags of Easter Candy. Plan an egg hunt for the kids, include the adults as well.

May Day - a pansy potted in a little cup or pot and left on the porch. Or save your egg cartons, wrap a ribbon around the base and get some seeds started for your friend.

Indep. Day - BBQ (of course), cd of your favorite 4th of July songs (God Bless America, etc).

Thanksgiving - pick up various colored leaves and form into leaf bouquet. If your friend is hosting a crowd for T-day, package up some of your favorite "big group" recipes, including breakfast and snack ideas to feed the crowd. Make some simple placecards for her feast, with places for her to fill in the names of her guests.

Christmas - Deliver a roll of Christmas wrap and ribbon to her doorstop. Have a wrapping party.
Stack of recipies that incorporate the 12 days of Christmas song (1st day of xmas = pear crisp).

New Years - Card with list of ways she has blessed your life over the last year.

Okay, here goes:

Easter: I have to tell a story here. When Bryan was in college, he and his roommate were friends with my oldest sister, Christy, and her roommate. All were Christians. Around Easter, they were walking together and saw a poster that said: "Bring your Bunny to the Spring Dance." My sister said, "I don't have a bunny." "Neither do I," said her roommate. So Bryan and his roommate surprised the girls a couple of days later with bunny coloring books, crayons and candy. The girls (without knowing what the guys were up to) did something similar for them! Ever since, the four of them have been each other's "bunnies."

May Day: Host a card-making/scrapbooking party with a spring theme

Independence Day: Work together with a friend to send care boxes to soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Thanksgiving: Put out a jar, pen and scraps of paper and encourage everyone to write a "what I'm thankful for" message. Read them aloud to each other after dinner.

Christmas: Offer to babysit for a friend who has young children so she can get some shopping done!

New Years: Buy a "Bible in a Year" for a friend and yourself so you can encourage each other to stay on track with your daily Bible reading for the new year.

I definitely want to participate in the next blog study, Debbie!

Now I have to say: None of you tease Bryan about being a bunny! He'd be so embarrassed.

Wow! It has been so fun for me to read your ideas, Jennifer and Brooke. I am SO not creative, so you have given me so many good ideas. I wrote some stuff down, but I won't make you all read it because it is quite boring next to your lists. The only thing that I'd add was an idea for Thanksgiving - send a card to a friend letting her know why you are thankful for her.
